Mistakes To Avoid When Cleaning Car Wheels

There is nothing more calming than owning a freshly washed car that shines like a diamond in the morning sun.

There is nothing more disturbing than seeing four dirty, muddy, dusty wheel rims ruining the idyllic.

It seems you haven't noticed yet. Auto wheel fair told you that you can wash the car body only when you run out of wheels.

This is our first common mistake.

1) Wash the body first

Although this may seem obvious, it is worth noting that the rubber legs of your car are the dirtiest part. It's not just mud ruining the gorgeous appearance of the wheels. There is also brake dust, which will stick to the transparent coating of the rim. If it is not cleaned properly, it may cause corrosion. This is why it is counterintuitive that you would want to start your car to take a bath-the part that touches the soil must be cleaned first.

This also has a practical side. You certainly don't want all the dust to splash on the bright paint. So, wash the wheels first.

2) Wash all wheels at the same time

The process of washing the wheels is quite lengthy. Most importantly, your car has four wheels.

But spinning around the car does not make it faster.

First, you will feel dizzy after a while.

Second, you don’t want the water, soap, and chemicals to dry out every time you enter the next stage. Just stay still and work on only one wheel at a time.

3) Use acid cleaner (or common dish soap)

There are many cleaners on the market now. This is why we have no reason not to pay attention to labels. The acid will scrub the dust off the brakes; we will give it to you. But the transparent coating will disappear with the dust. The clear coat is to protect the edges and makes it look beautiful. Therefore, when choosing a suitable cleaning agent, choose a neutral pH.

When it comes to dish liquid, um... one cannot repeat it too many times: Dish liquid is made for washing dishes. Many people use it to clean the car body. Indeed, it is very cheap. Indeed, it can degrease any surface. But we are not hereafter skimming. There are more difficult (and more dangerous) things piled on the wheels. Sitting there, they would only laugh at the sponge covered with dish soap.

4) Wet the wheel with clean water and rub it

If you make this mistake, you can only hope that there are some scratches on the coat. The same principle applies to car washes. It is completely legal to flush with a hose (remove it by hand). But this is not the case when rubbing with water. At least at this stage, there are many sharp particles still sticking to the surface.

You need some lubricant to make the sponge smooth. Soapy water works well. The more slippery the surface is, the better.
